Review of symbology encyclopaedia3
This is a very thorough book, with information on many different religious and cultural uses of symbology. Having said that there were still items I could not find listed in it (I am an art history student, and that is a bit frustrating), and there is no index to quickly look up what it is you are after, and no cross reference. All the pics are a bit grainy & black & white, but serve their purpose as an illustration to their symbols. A usefull book, but in a collection of symbology books. I have ordered a few different books on the subject, to cross reference and would recommend doing that than to rely soley on this book.

Amazing5
This is the very best symbol book I have ever seen, one of those books you would wish to take on a desert island with you. To help you to appreciate and understand the symbolism that you are being shown by GOD and his/her messengers and sentient beings. I cannot praise the detail and depth enough. Superb insights can be gained from this a rare treasure.

Excellent5
At first it looks quite small for an encyclopedia but once you have a look inside you realise that it has all the information you'd ever want and more.
It's organised alphabetically by the object you wish to know the meaning of and there's the occasional picture that goes alongside each entry. All entry's go into great detail and don't consist of a small paragraph or one-liner but are a good length but aren't too long that you can't be bothered to read them. The information given is unbiased, in that it tells you what such a symbol would mean in different countries or religions for example. Quality of information well exceeds the price.
