Interest in supernatural tales and Victoriana?
Doyle is perhaps best known for his detective-fiction, and his Sherlock Holmes has become the most celebrated archetype of the detective-figure. But doyle also wrote some more 'occult'/'supernatural' fiction, and this book contains those stories. perhaps it's best to give the table of contents:
1. The mystery of Sasassa Valley
2. The captain of the 'Polestar'
3. The ghosts of Goresthorpe Grange
4. The silver hatchet
5. The great Keinplatz Experiment
6. John Barrington Cowles
7. The ring of Thoth
8. A pastoral Horror
9. Dr. Profundis
10. Lot No. 249
11. The parasite
12. The story of the brown hand
13. Playing with fire
14. The leather Funnel
15. The silver mirror
16. Through the veil
17. How it happened
18. The bully of Brocas Court
If you are into Poe, and even Lovecraft, you should have this book of Doyle also. It contains vampires, ghosts, ghouls and even mummies
