Product Description

For the second edition of this very successful text, Professor Binmore has written two chapters on analysis in vector spaces. The discussion extends to the notion of the derivative of a vector function as a matrix and the use of second derivatives in classifying stationary points. Some necessary concepts from linear algebra are included where appropriate. The first edition contained numerous worked examples and an ample collection of exercises for all of which solutions were provided at the end of the book. The second edition retains this feature but in addition offers a set of problems for which no solutions are given. Teachers may find this a helpful innovation.

Good, but not brilliant4
I bought this book after having major problems with my analysis course. It does have quite a few examples and more exercises than I had in my course, but if you are thinking of buying this, don't expect it to be a miracle worker. The concepts in analysis are difficult, mostly because of the huge amount to be covered, and this book does move quite fast. I would recommend to anyone who already understands the subject, and just needs a reference type book, or more examples. If you're having troubles with the concepts, try this book, with addition to others.

The best analysis book on this planet.5
I used to hate analysis because I never knew how to answer an analysis question. Binmore's book introduced me to so many different analysis questions and their (detailed) solutions, that I quickly understood how to solve any analysis question, and also knew why a certain method was used. Thanks to this book I scored a perfect 100% in my analysis exam.

An encyclopedia of Mathematical Analysis5
THE BEST mathematical analysis book. A must for any university student studying maths.
