beautiful testament
Rodney Cotterill, amazing polymath of the modern times, died while this book was being produced but Cambridge managed to bring the project to completion, and this is a greatly impressive opus. I admit I have not read it all, only chapters, but I am working on it, and this book makes the material world around us ever more fascinating. It ends with the immaterial "enchanted loom" hooking us into Cotterill's other recent book on the human mind. Honestly a great book, testament of a top mind, recommended.
