Average customer review:Product Description
This comprehensive and accessible book is designed for use by students following the Theory of Knowledge course in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The book is also useful for students following other critical thinking courses. The fundamental question in Theory of Knowledge is ‘How do you know?’ In exploring this question, the author encourages critical thinking across a range of subject areas and helps students to ask relevant questions, use language with care and precision, support ideas with evidence, argue coherently and make sound judgements.

An outstanding book
This book is better than I expected it would be (having heard many recommendations). Having seen Dr van de Lagemaat speak, I was aware that he was a good philosopher. His book is systematic and detailed, and inspires critical thinking in any reader; at the same time it is both fun to read and indeed witty and amusing at times.
This book contains a full, comprehensive, in-depth exploration of every aspect of the IB ToK course. I would recommend it to any International Baccalaureate student.
Genius
Wow. This book has taken me by surprise. I am not an IB student, but I heard this book was invaluable as a tool to better understand the human psyche. It is the most phenomenal piece of non-fiction I have ever read; I could literally recommend it to anybody, be they an IB student, or otherwise. Quite simply a fabulous book - can be read easily from cover to cover. Bravo!

Very helpful and amusing. It is definitely useful when doing a TOK essay as it has relevant lists of quotations before each chapter and explains broadly what you need to know.
