Customer Reviews

Very, Very good5
I found this book to be excellent. It fitted the criteria of my coursework and simply highlighted the causes for the outbreak of the second world war. It goes through each reason why war broke out, background, consequences etc. There is simple language and it proved to be very useful, as I used this book extensively. I would recommend this book to anyone doing A level history, and their area of study is the origins of war, I did not use the first section of the book, as my assignment was about the causes for the outbreak of the second world war, but it was very good and innovative, not the complex writings of other historians. Also what was good, was that there was an overview on each cause and provided a histography, and contasting historains views, the price is also reasonable, so if its for coursework needs or revision, this is the book for you!

Very good overview for A-level students4
A balanced and well written book. I have used the first part of the book extensively and have found it has consisely explained many of the complex issues involved well. This is the perfect book on the subject for an A-level student, it isn't post graduate or GCSE level. Invaluable as a short and informative overview of The First World War and i would imagine (this is not my area of study) that it is equally good for the second.

A great book5
