'The book is an abundant source of creative ideas for teaching structure and language with little or no teaching aids and resources.' QUATESOL Newsletter, 1999

Customer Reviews

Excellent for low ability!5
Although I believe this book is aimed at TEFL/ESOL I find it a godsend for low ability. I recently moved from a school with very weak pupils in it to a special school and now it gets used even more as time fillers.

Each activity can actually be adapted to suit your surroundings and the needs of that moment - you can extend the actitivities or use them to kickstart a full lesson.

Worth the purchase even if it's used solely as a back-up.

Teaching in China?5
This book is made for those about to teach in China.

Clear ideas that require little or no resources to teach.

It gives you the tools to go beyond whatever (if any) text book you are assigned and get some more enjoyable and effective activities into your classroom.

A fantastic book for when your lesson plan goes horribly wrong, or the dog ate it.

Was not as useful as I had hoped2
While many of the exercises are, as they indicate, created from nothing.. I found it hard to take the exercises & make them applicable to the adult groups that I had. Most fell flat & I went back to my 'tried & tested' exercises instead.

There are a few noteworthy ideas however so it was not all a loss.
