Learning To Write Academic English Made Easy
When I first came across this book I was working as a TEFL teacher in London and had been put in charge of developing a module for students aiming to begin a university course the following September. This being my first foray into academic learning I was keen to find a book that would help me with the most important and usually difficult area of academic writing. After some research, Leki's book seemed the only one that offered a piecemeal approach to writing sentences, paragraphs and essays.

Adapting the material for the students was very easy and it became a mainstay of the course. I told my students about the book and some bought it for further study. I recommend this book if your English is upper-intermediate and above or you are a native speaker and are not confident in your ability to write for an academic audience.
