Much improved approach to Cosmology4
This book was re-written for the new A-level (A2) which came into force in 2001. Whilst the content is similar to its previous incarnation, the use of full colour throughout has helped to bring this difficult subject to life. The Universe is beautiful and awe-inspiring, and any set text should exclaim this! The chapters are concise and well-written, with genuinely good explanations of the theories discussed. This is such a broad topic that the exam specification could never hope to provide a complete picture of the subject. Nevertheless, the book helps to achieve this by going just beyond the specification when necessary to offer a fuller understanding. As with all the books in this series, the use of sub-exam standard questions scattered throughout the chapters helps students to feel they are making a headway with the subject, increasing their self-confidence. They can then be challenged by the harder questions at the ends of topics. This might be a standard way of doing things, but why change something that works so well?Used outside of the OCR A2 course, this book offers much to the interested astronomy enthusiast, and could complement any of the other main A level exams in this subject.

The only OCR cosmology book worth having5
This is a brilliant book and supplements the OCR cosmology module perfectly. The use of diagrams and images (in colour) make you want to read on. I know many people who didn't even like Physics that read this book because it is so interesting. All the parts of the OCR syllabus are present and it explains even the complex theories of relativity well.

I was able to achieve a solid B with this book and it will really serve you well.
