Customer Reviews
A must have for anyone studing AS level chemistry!
Especially if you are studuing the OCR syllabus - it contains everything that you are required to know for the exams. It explains things clearly and contains easy to follow diagrams. Is divided into chapters that go in the order in which you will be taught the course and each chapter also contains a learning summary and test questions so you can moniter your progress as you go. I used this text book in place of the one provoded by my school as I found it suited my learning style and helped me to achive B,B,C in my recent AS level chemistry exams.
Perfect for OCR
This book is written for the OCR syllabus, and is therefore perfect for it. Nearly everyone in my class had a copy. The exam questions are past paper questions, or at least written by the same people who set the exams.
I found this book really useful, as is the A2 version: Chemistry 2. I got an A in Chemistry and this books helped towards it. In fact my own teacher said if somebody read the book and tried to remember it, they could get a C without even going to class.
USELESS!!!This book is a waste of money
I bought this book because my college instructed me that this was the one that was right for the OCR syllabus. But my tutor has long since abandoned the use of it! Everything you need to know is in it, but also lots of other stuff to confuse you.
*It is not set out in a clear way and is very wordy.
*If you want to know how to calculations it is absolutely rubbish! doesnt tell u what they mean or where numbers come from.
*the end of chapter questions are useless- theres no answers for them!
By the Letts AS chemistry revision guide instead.
