Basic rather than advanced
This is a useful volume if you are looking for everyday alternative words, say for crosswords. However, if you want more advanced language this will leave you wanting a more advanced source. It is very easy to use though.
Chambers Paperback Thesaurus
Not the comprehensive reference I was expecting from Chambers. Simple and straightforward to use, but little to recommend to serious crossword solvers.
