From the Back Cover
In this second book of The Malloreon, Garion and Ce'nedra continue the quest begun in Guardians of the West. In their party travel the immortal Belgarath the Sorcerer, his daughter Polgara the Sorceress, and the little Drasnian, Silk.
Garion knows that it is the mysterious figure Zandramas who is responsible for the abduction of his infant son, and he and his companions journey many miles and encounter many strange beings in their search for him.
Their way leads through the foul swamps of Nyissa, ruled over by the Snake-Queen, and on into the dark kingdom of the Murgos, where human sacrifices are still made to the dead god Torak. Further on, however, even beyond those forbidding lands, they must face the ultimate danger - not only to themselves but to all mankind...
THUS CONTINUES BOOK TWO OF THE MALLOREON
About the Author
David Eddings
David Eddings was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1931, and was raised in the Puget Sound area north of Seattle. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1961. He has served in the United States Army, worked as a buyer for the Boeing Company, has been a grocery clerk and has taught college English. He has lived in many parts of the United States. His first novel, High Hunt, was a contemporary adventure story. The field of fantasy has always been of interest to him, however, and he turned to The Belgariad (published by Corgi) in an effort to develop certain technical and philosophical ideas concerning that genre. Eddings currently resides with his wife, Leigh, in north-west America.
Customer Reviews
beleivable and intriguing. actually
In the second installment of the mallorean, David Eddings continues the epic quest for the abductor of Belgarions son. With his dryad gueen Ce'Nedra, the drasnian Silk, Polgara the Sorceress and her father, the legendary Belgarath the Sorcerer Belgarion must follow the trail of Zandramas after his son. An overpowering read for first time readers of the literary giant, the only fault to be found with the novel is its annoying similarity to the "Elenium" his other series. Apart from this lapse, "King of the Murgos" is an amazing read for fans and first time tryers alike. Definitely worth anyones time. If you are trying a new author, make it David Eddings!
One of their Better books
The books is one of the authers books. One good thing about it is that the pace is much faster then in "Guardian of the West" which while being a good book was a bot slow.
In this book we continue following Belgarion on his quest to find his son and his Kidnapper. in course of this story we meet some old favourits and Some new ones who will become favourites.
we also get to find out a lot more about the murgos their culture, etc and a surprise revelation.I woud't spoil it for you so go on and enjoy the book.
This book was very well- written
This book was very good. In some places it was kind of slow. In this book, Garion and his ''team'' continue on their quest to save Geran, thwart Zandramas, and stop the other Prophecy. I commend David Eddings on another great book. Bravo!
