Average customer review:Product Description
As a librarian, Imogen read a lot of books, but none of them covered real life on the Riviera. Her holiday with tennis ace, Nicky, and the whole glamorous coterie of journalist, playboy, photographer, was a revelation - and so was she. A prize worth winning. A wild Yorkshire rose among the thorny model girls, Cable and Yvonne, with a rare asset that they'd mislaid years ago...But the path of a jet-set virgin in that lovely wicked world was a hard one. Imogen began to wonder if virtue really was its own reward...

A great romantic read
I first read this book 20 years ago at the age of 10 - and loved it immediately. Despite my young age I found I could totally identify with the heroine and rooted for her all the way through the tale. Years on and many, many re-reads later I still rate this books as one of my all-time favourites. It's perfect for a summer's afternoon at the beach or in the garden.

This is a wonderful quick read from the most wonderful fiction and factual writer that is Jilly Cooper. I am a huge fan. You feel that you really know the characters, and she has an amazing way of drawing you into the book. Wonderful, if you have not read this and you think you like Jilly, well shame on you. GO ON BUY IT NOW!!!
I have now read it at least 6 or 7 times. Fantastic.
holiday fun
I'm reading this book for about the zillionth time, it's such good fun! Set in the South of France it's escapism amongst beautiful people and beautiful scenery. JCs desriptions make you truly believe you are there. Her characters are glamorous, yet lifelike and as always this book is written slighty "tongue in cheek". One gets the impression that JC enjoyed every moment of writing this book, the reader will enjoy every moment of reading it.
