Trained as a "regular" doctor at very fine schools, I discovered about yeast when I was looking for solutions for patient problems that "wouldn't get better." I spent 3 years perfecting a treatment program that is very simple, very direct -- and very successful. The book describes exactly what you need to know to "get better," under the care of a local physician willing to help you recover your health -- even if he/she has to step into "alternative" approaches because "usual" care simply fails to produce the results. Since 1986 publication, the treatment program has hardly changed -- that speaks to a successful, basic plan that addresses most problems for most readers who are suffering. Patients and physicians from around the world have written me for assistance with their illness problems. Happily, I have been able to stand by "the basics" explained in The Yeast Syndrome book, simply because a true understanding is hard to beat. In the past 12 years, we've gotten newer diagnostic and treatment tools, so your own physician might have some "new twists" -- that's great. But the key to understanding why you got sick and how to get better are in the pages of this wonderful book. Since publishing The Yeast Syndrome, I've gone on to self-publish books on degenerative joint disease, heavy metal intoxications, and cardiovascular diseases. This book encouraged me to get to the root of my problem.
I had difficulty starting this book and it sat on my bookshelf for years, until I had another bout with candida. I then, went to the back of the book and read of the complications of the condition when left untreated. I couldn't put the book down and am now setting up a diet and looking for a doctor to help with treatment. So, I recommend the book highly.

Women, you MUST read this book - it could save your sanity.
For years I dealt with severe depression, painful digestive disorders, bronchitis, and recurrent yeast and bladder infections. Less than two years ago I bought this book as a last resort. I didn't know what to expect if I followed its recommendations - I was desperate. To my great surprise, it worked! I am presently free of all the above symptoms plus a host of others too numerous to mention here. Yeast may not be your problem, but it sure doesn't hurt to find out. It's definitely worth the few dollars for this book. Because of the dedication and open-mindedness of its author, I am healthy and truly happy for the first time in my life. I wrote him a thank-you letter to that effect, and he replied with a handwritten note of congratulation and urged me to spread the word about this illness. Buy this book - you'll be glad you did. I am.

Comprehensive
This is the most comprehensive book on candida I have ever read. The index is thorough. There are phone numbers of doctors that are familiar with the syndrome listed by state. I am learning much more from this book than Dr. Crook's more popular book "The Yeast Connection". This book includes more info in one source than you will find anywhere on the internet, including the candida forum (raincity.com then under health professionals) I did not buy this book from Amazon. I bought it from the bookstore and paid $3.00 extra!!! This book is technical, but easy to understand.
