About the Author
Audrey Eyton has spent most of her professional life working in the field of diet, nutrition and health, where she has become widely recognized and admired as a serious contributor and enlightened innovator. In 1969 she co-founded and directed the world's first magazine devoted to dieting, Slimming Magazine, and was responsible for many advances including the first low-fat slimming diet. In 1982 she published The F-Plan Diet which became an international multi-million-copy bestseller. Twenty-four years on she has written another ground-breaking book on diet and health, The F2 Diet. The F2 Cookbook is now available from Bantam Press. Audrey Eyton lives in Canterbury, Kent.

A life changing book, not a diet4
I wanted a diet book that would not have me counting calories, be reliant on fad ideas such as cutting down on wheat, not mixing certain food groups etc, or end up leaving me hungry. And I have found just that using this book. I already had an idea of what is good for me (veg, fruit etc) - the government is very good at telling us about the 5 portions; but I simply did not know how much I should have for it to be of benefit, and what food groups have the best qualities. I have also always been very skeptical of the old low carb diets out there - the main staple of Asian, Italian and French foods are white rice, pasta and bread respectively, and they don't have the obesity problems of this country.

This book lays out the fundamental principles of healthy eating and I feel it is deliberately simple so that you can adapt it to fit in with a normal, busy lifestyle. If you are someone who likes to follow rules and diets by the nth degree, then this is not for you. But if you are someone who simply has gotten lost in the bewildering array of complex diets and just wants an easy to follow set of diet-changing guidelines then like me, this is perfect.

I feel that I have adopted a new way of life in eating and not just following a diet for a limited period of time. In just 3 weeks I feel better and my clothes feel a lot looser without even half the effort of old tried and tested diets!

A diet that works with no fuss5
I am using this diet and think it is absolutely great. My husband and I have both been on it for 6 weeks, the food is all delicious and there is plenty to eat and we have both lost a significant amount of weight. We have not as advised managed to cut back on our alcohol units but that doesn't seem to have mattered.

If you are looking to lose weight in the most sensible, safe and healthy way then you have found the right book. I was a big fan of the F-plan in the eighties (and was very slim) so when I heard Audrey Eyton had written an updated version I was keen to take a look. She focuses on eating plenty of complex carbohydrates (eg brown basmati rice, cereals) fresh fruit & veg and fish/tofu/a little meat. You never feel hungry. This is definately a book designed to change your long term eating habits, and that is why-unlike many diet books, it does not contain strict,prescriptive menu plans that are impossible to keep to.
You will not be disappointed with this book- and may add a few years to your life, and lose weight along the way..Good Luck!
