The movie was good and so is this
I really enjoyed this movie and saw it more than once so just had to have the screenplay. What I enjoyed about reading the screenplay is that it is as it was written and included scenes that were either not included or edited from the movie (in particular at the beginning). The book includes a few photos from the movie although it would be nice if they had included a few more. The screen adaptation may have differed in some ways from the original book but I think that it reflected the intentions of the story. If you enjoyed the movie as much as I did then you will enjoy the screenplay and it is one way of keeping the movie fresh in mind until the video comes out.
Vacation on The Beach
"The Beach" is a great story about Gen-Xrs searching for paradise, finding it, and realizing that it may not be what they hoped for.
I sent away for this screenplay book, because I enjoyed the movie. And it did not dissapoint. The writing style by John Hodge is a delight to read, he took the best parts of the book and made them cinema-compatible. Some of the more intense scenes, like the finale and the scenes where Richard experiences nightmares/hallucinations of Daffy, make the scenes all the more enjoyable on paper.
The shooting screenplay is a wonderful script to read. If you enjoyed the movie, you will want to read this. And if, like myself, you're a hugh fan of the source novel by Alex Garland, you will be intrigued at the changes, and will enjoy this good script.
