Read Samuel Beckett and die
I saw Max Wall perform Krapp's Last Tape.
This was a devastating moment in my life. The play is both gutting and uplifting. Krapp's life is not a tragic one. I aspire to his world, despite it's pathos.

Only recently (2004) have I bought the play (or is it a score?) from Amazon and read it.
It's a killer! Read this play and you get all the depth, all the complexity but you can't help but feel that you are Krapp as you're reading it.

Oh, and by the way, "I feel Krapp" is a pun that Samuel Beckett was well aware of. S.B. was never pretentious in that way.

Go and see a performance of Krapp, but don't miss out on reading the play.

Krapp's Last Tape is a humorous one act play involving a man named Krapp. Recording his life, he looks back on recorded spools of his life. The recorded spools talk about previous spools years earlier. Always with the same attitude towards just about everything, Krapp does not change as he ages. His life is a circular cycle as opposed to a straight line. He is figuratively constipated. Fun to read and entertaining.
