Dont' judge a book by its cover!
Despite the extremely commercial cover and title, this book is a pleasant suprise and treasure trove of unusual information. For a book on magick it deals with the subject tastefully and truthfully. I thought the section specifically dealing with deities and their correspondences was wonderful (and rare) and while I don't advocate using spells directly from a book, many of the ones here are honest and down to earth (unlike so many circulating at the moment). Its a good length and worth the money in my opinion. Its an excellent magickal textbook for followers of any religion. Obviously it is directed towards wicca and the craft and includes introductory sections to both at the onset, but is adaptable for anyone. As a practioner of over 5 years, I know i'll be using this constantly for reference. Certainly one for the book shelf. Her style is very user friendly for beginners and advanced alike.
a well put together, easy to follow guide to witchcraft
This is a well put together and practical guide to witchcraft. It is full of correspondance tables for herbs, candle colours, crystals etc. It explains witchcraft simply, without complicated words or phrases, explaining the ritual tools, festivals including riuals for each festival, circle casting and some practical spells. The book also includes a spell template to help create your own spells. Excellent for someone new to the craft although the experienced witch might find the book is much the same formula as the rest
A very good book
There are a few books of this genre that really stand out from the crowd and this is one of them! Quite a lot of other books on the subject tend to either concentrate mainly on one particular aspect of the craft, or provide a very brief skimming overview which doesn't really tell you anything new. Cassandra Eason knows her stuff, and this book is a real gem of useful information. She tells you WHAT you need to know, as well as HOW to use it! I also agree with a previous reviewer about finding the charts for candle colours, crystals etc a useful addition. All in all, this book was a pleasant surprise as it really is quite a comprehensive manual as well as an interesting and informative read for anyone interested in the craft. Highly Recommended!
