Very Detailed
This is an excellent book for the earth science student with detailed examinations of the physical and chemical nature of the soil.
However, it does presuppose an knowledge of soil and its properties, as well as assuming the reader has a well founded knowledge of chemistry and soil science (and possibly mathematics).
This is not an introductory text to soil science though for those pursing the earth sciences at a post-graduate level it will be an invaluable reference.
