Useful little textbook4
If you are studying acoustics and noise control, or a course that covers either area, then this may be the book you were looking for.
It covers how to measure SPL, the acoustic environment and how sound behaves when both airborne and structure-born. It will also help with room acoustic calculations and areas relating to noise control engineering and vibrations.
The book itself is laid out very neatly with nice sub-titles in each chapter. The terminology is not over complex, but sufficient enough that the novice can understand it without feeling patronised. It has many data tables and diagrams that are clear and easy to understand and also offer a graphical solution to the text. The author has also broken down the many equations into steps so that they are not too overwhelming, but managable.
I found this text very useful in my coursework and referred to it often. I would recommend it to anyone who is undertaking a college or further education course in this area.
