Average customer review:Product Description
Covering the core requirements of the OCR A, Edexcel and AQA specifications, AS and A Level Chemistry is clearly structured into two parts for AS and A Level to ensure students progress confidently through the course.
- Support for students - clear language and explanations do not assume a strong scientific background. Worked examples supported by practice questions are provided for difficult topics.
- Gradual progression - the content gets progressively harder through the book to match students' increased understanding.
- Extension material provides a deeper understanding and enrichment for higher ability students.
- Assessment - exam style questions at the end of each chapter assess and consolidate students' knowledge and aid revision.

A must for all, whether students or teachers
'A Level Chemistry' ensures successful progression to bridge the gap between Double Award GCSE and Advanced Level study. This has been really helpful for me to gain a top A Level grade. It presents science as a human activity by including examples of applications and details of how discoveries were made. The authors strategically uses simple colours throughout, making it easy on the eye and to aid navigation. The structural double-page layout includes graphs, diagrams and pictures. Although chemistry is a difficult subject, this book has enabled me to understand the complex principles. Text includes exam style questions at the end of each chapter to assess and consolidate the students knowledge and understanding and 'Self Assessment Questions' (with answers) at several points through each chapter which check the students understanding and provide smooth progression through the course. The main strength of this book is the language used in context to make any chemical concept easy to understand and to apply them into real life situations confidently. It covers the core requirements of AS and A Level Chemistry for OCR A, Edexcel and AQA specifications. The authors, Erik Lewis and Martyn Berry are themselves teachers with many years of experience.
