About the Author

Jill Hadfield has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Britain, France, China, Tibet and Madagascar and run short courses and seminars for teachers in many other parts of the world. She is the author of fifteen resource books for teachers, including the Longman Communication Games series, five books in the new Oxford Basics series and Classroom Dynamics. She has also written two travel books and a novel.

TEFL Teacher Help!!
Struggling in the mire of having a lesson plan to prepare with only twenty minutes to spare, I was tearing my hair out. One of my colleagues leaned over and recommended "Intermediate Vocabulary Games". Without trying to make this sound like the start of a cheap loan commercial, I really would recommend this book. It contains, in very logical format, with a clear context, all the materials that a teacher needs if they want to create a lesson that seems lighthearted but contains a logical and meaningful purpose.

Vocabulary is broken down into its various sections, the "Materials and Preparation" section explains to the harassed teacher what they have to do, and it is all so simple. Mostly it is only photocopying of the book!

If, like me, you are faced with deadline after deadline and need some help quickly, I strongly recommend this book... It has exercises on a wide range of topics, and every aspect of what you might have to cover is explained: vocabulary, grammar and the games! Wonderful!
