Millennium fever has hit the AutoCAD world with the landmark release of AutoCAD 2000.
An Introduction to AutoCAD 2000 provides a comprehensive introduction to this new version of the world's most widely used computer-aided drawing package. The book presents a practical and logical course of work to the reader, beginning at first principles and going on to more complex exercises in two- and three-dimensional drawing.
All the basic features of the package are covered, as are some of the key enhancements in AutoCAD 2000. A colour section of working screenshots illustrate how the package is used, and include examples of 2D drawings and fully rendered 3D models. The special appendices covering printing and plotting, and the separate glossaries of AutoCAD tool names and general computing terms, make this a first-class introduction to AutoCAD 2000.
An Introduction to AutoCAD 2000 is an essential introduction to AutoCAD 2000 for engineering students and practitioners, either using the software for the first time or upgrading from previous versions of AutoCAD. It is particularly suitable for engineering and construction courses in further and higher education.

An invaluable learning tool.
I have been using this book while studying a City and Guilds course in Autocad and have found it to be invaluable. The book caters for both novice and experienced users alike. Starting with the very basics, such as how to open files etc, the book helps you to learn at your own pace. The chapters are set out clearly and concisely, along with pictures of how the "windows" and icons will appear on your screen. Specific tasks are shown step by step, with the computer prompts shown in bold type, coupled with the information you need to input. At the end of each chapter are exercises for you to attempt. These cover exactly what has been shown in the chapter and is an excellent way of judging your progress. Although the book covers a lot about Autocad 2000, it's pages are well spaced and uncluttered. Diagrams are precise and replicate what you should be seeing on your screen. An excellent, value for money book. A brilliant way of learning about the latest in CAD technology.
Superb!
An excellent book, covering all the basics working up to far more complex functions. Most of the coursework from the "introduction to CAD" course at my University is derived from this book and I've found it invaluable.
If you're learning AutoCAD through an educational establishment, or even on your own, this book is an absolute must - BUY IT NOW!
