Customer Reviews
everything you need to know
I'm a higher level student studying for Chemistry GCSE and I always turn to this book when my thin official textbook doesn't have the answers (which is often). For revision I've borrowed it outright. This is the only textbook I've ever done a review of and probably the only one I ever will, but I'm so impressed by it I thought I should. It goes into enough depth to make sure you understand and while it's very clear to follow it doesn't treat you like an idiot. It also has the occasional vaguely amusing caption "Mild steel." "More mild steel." "Even more mild steel." and tells you things you could look up if you were more interested in the subject.
It's true that it isn't syllabus specific but on the other hand this means that you're not left with confusing gaps in your knowledge and at the beginning it shows you how to look up your syllabus so you don't have to learn things you don't want to. And it even has a coursework section at the back!
