Orwell's classic novel tells the story of a world where thoughts and actions are controlled by the all-seeing Big Brother. When Winston Smith rebels and searches for the truth he learns a painful lesson about his world and the people in it. Also a powerful film directed by Michael Radford.

What a rip-off
Err..this isn't 1984. It's a watered down edited waste of printing paper. Either someone is intelligent enough to read and study this book or they aren't. And amazon should really make it clear that this isn't the entire book. I bought it and was severely disappointed and obviosly ripped-off. As I couldn't find the invoice I just had to chuck it away. BUY IT AT YOUR PERIL...

Absurd
Everything about Orwell is to do with simplicity and clarity. The idea of 'simplifying' this text is absolutely absurd.
