About the Author
Dale Brown was a much decorated US Air Force Captain aboard B-52s and FB111 fighter bombers, and participated in numerous top secret tests and exercises held to simulate an actual strategic war. He became a recognised expert on air warfare and appeared on American TV as a commentator during the Gulf War. Only a man with Dale Brown's background could provide the detailed authenticity that makes his novels such compulsive reading.

Class Book
The Story took a little time to get going but by the time it is started it is a great read.
Action galore!
This was in fact Dale Brown's first work of fiction he wrote, but was published after FLIGHT OF THE OLD DOG at request from his agent. The story concerns the first military space station operated by the US which has to go into action when Russia invades Iran and threatens nuclear attack. As if that wasn't enough, the space station is under threat by Soviet space fighters and their own laser system! What can our heroes do? The outcome we all know, but this is such an entertaining story with some feasible ideas of military hardware that you cannot help but get swept away by the action. As well as the awesome space action scenes which would not disgrace a big screen spectacular, you get naval action in the Persian Gulf as US and Soviet carrier groups battle it out, and ground warfare in the deserts of Iran. Although the scenario may be old hat these days, it is still an excellent and easy to read novel which will appeal to a wide range of readers.
My favourite
I'm a big fan of Dale Brown's books and with me being an aeroplane nut and having a big interest in the space program, I absolutley love Silver Tower. It is one of my favourites by Dale Brown and I have read it quite a few times. If you love any kind of action packed books, I say read it.
