An excellent book
This book covers everything Professor Moss has attempted in his whole research career - from diatoms through to phytoplankton and trophic cascades. There is an absolute wealth of information contained in this new edition, which is relevant to all researchers in the freshwater ecology field - particularly undergraduates (I recommend this book especially for those undertaking field courses). Definitely worth the price - buy it even if you have the earlier editions!
Brilliant book, just like its author!!
This book is a must for any student studying biology/ecology or related subjects. It goes through all topics you are required to study with studies and references abound for all. The book starts with a BrianMoss-typical poem, which will make you laugh! As a former student of his, i can assure you of his eccenticities, but they only served to make lectures more fun and informative (eg making us all sing the hippo song to highlight a point he was trying to make (if you dont believe me search for "Brian Moss" on YouTube!!!)). This eccentric streak runs though this informative book making it a delight to read and learn from.
