A excellent textbook for all paleontologists
This is exceptional book, written with genuine enthusiasm for the subject. The text is detailed and informative, illustrated throughout with excellent diagrams and drawings. However, the content is so detailed, newcomers to the subject may find themselves a little out of their depth.
Geography/ Geology Undergrad
This book was recommended as coursetext book for my second year course in Paleontology. I found the book fairly useful and covered all the topics that I needed. My only reservation is that it does not have enough pictures representing the fossils. Here i had to refer to the series published by the British Museum. Overall I couldn't have got through the course without it, a great help.
Excellent
The book is wonderfully illustrated and covers all topics to start you on. It very much up to date and I found it very useful that each chapter has an excellent list of recommended further reading, both in specialist literature and journal articles.
