Brilliant!
The best vocal book I have found yet covering many aspects of vocal technique. If you want to learn about breathing, warm up, looking after your voice, tone, expression, etc..then this book explains it in an easy to understand way and in detail. Great value and a book I recommend to all. I am a vocal coach myself and it has been very useful. The cd I use time and time again to continue to develop as a singer myself. It has hundreds of scales for low and high voices, for beginners through to advanced. Excellent!
A must buy book for all vocalists!
This has deffinately been one of the best vocal books i have read. Being a vocal teacher myself it has been really useful to me for my own research and compared to other books, i haven't found one that quite matches this (and I have read a LOT of vocal books!) It is informative and easy to follow, with a fantastic warm up cd which I have used time and time again for my own warm up. It is for beginners to advanced. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to sing, and for teachers, particularly the cd. Excellent value.
The Contemporary Singer
I purchased this book as I already play guitar and I wanted to sing while playing. I recorded myself before using this book and then again after reading and following the advice in the book. I noticed a massive improvement after about four months practicing for about a hour a day. This book covers every aspect of singing as far as I know.
To improve this book they could have included some more recent songs to practice, although you can apply the techniques in this book to any song which is what I did. The CD that comes with the book has many vocal excercises on it from easy to hard and is good, but I think a DVD showing you how the professionals do it would have been better aid.
I also purchased Total Singing Tutor by Carrie
