Customer Reviews
informative and interesting
I liked this book. I got it at the same time I got the one by Poppy Z. Brite and I thought that the official one was better. I thought that this book was slightly biased and had some wrong information in it. For example, she writes that Dave Ghrol was not at the wedding but in the official book there is a picture that clearly shows he was there. All in all a good read but not the best book avalable.
Interesting, but not very accurate
This book is an entertaining, fast read, but judging from the factual errors that litter the pages, it's questionable as a reliable source of Courtney-lore, and should probably be seen as "historical fiction" at best. The book is not "anti-Courtney", per se, but it does give an astonishing amount of space to Rozz Rezabek, the whining former boyfriend whose claim to fame is saying that Courtney destroyed his career in the hatchetjob "documentary" "Kurt and Courtney". At some points it seems that it should be titled "Rozz Rezabek: King of Crybabies" instead. There aren't any interviews with people who are currently close to Courtney. Compared to Poppy Z. Brite's very detailed and beautifully writen bio, this one is very low-end.
A very negative picture of Courtney Love
An awful book! In my opinion this is very badly written. The book is a collection of negative perspectives on Courtney Love pieced together from anyone and everyone, anywhere and everywhere, and jumbled together in a book that doesn't make a lot of sense. Rossi seems to have deliberately set out to find any story or point of view which will make her subject look like an out-of-control maniac and ignored any contradictory information.
Unlike Poppy Z Brite's Courtney Love biography, Rossi's doesn't follow a logical time or thought pattern, which makes it quite difficult to get into. Definitely not recommended. Read the Poppy Z Brite one!
