Product Description

Werewolves, trolls, cattle mutilations, rain of toads, and skyquakes, Sunnydale is being besieged by dark forces. But even with Buffy providing her unique style of damage control while Giles is hospitalized out of town, it's more than one Slayer can handle.

Like a cheap photocopy of the series1
Really disappointing. I really love the tv series, and I hoped the book would have the same punch. Sometimes books based on tv shows really improve on them. And sometimes they just stink by missing the point completely. Unfortunately, this book is not good. It uses the settings, it uses the character names and situations from the series, but that's it. It's all so hollow and none of it rings true. It lacks the witty darkness and irony of the series - it's just full of feeble wisecracks, grim demons and stuff. I got halfway through and felt too depressed to continue. A real shame, because a Bufy book could be so amazing.

A big disappointment1
...I would have to say this is not a read for an intelligent B fan. The charactors and scenarios are borrowed, but they do not talk or act in the way we see them in the show. A few quotes from TV are thrown in to attempt to marry the two medias, but the result is nothing but cringe-worthy. Anyone reading it and expecting to enjoy it the way they do the show will be bitterly disappionted. The story is juvenile and tedius, the characters shallow and unrealistic and the connection to the show no more than simple namesake. Save your money and buy the vids, it just DOES NOT work.

An interesting read4
This book is a brillant start to a trilogy. Although slow to start with the book soon picks up and is an easy read.
