Customer Reviews

Simply Excellent5
This book worth its weight in gold. Easy to read with clear descriptions, very few dead pages. I got all the answers I needed within few pages unlike other books that you have to read the at least half the book to realise what they are talking about. Most authors when giving example forget that the user has is using this book to learn and give the most unlikely scenario in their examples, confusing the reader, but this book delivered it just right...

Great for serious users, no use for starters5
This book is being left on the shelf until I find a book which just explains what access is about. It looks well written and very useful, however if you've never used Access before you need to find something else to introduce you to it. Trouble is that will probably be the last 5 pages of another 500 page book... any recommendations on just an intro to Access? Microsoft seemed to have stopped providing manuals...

Access 2000 Unleashed fills a void.5
This comprehensive treatment of Access 2000 is indispensable for any serious Access developer as a tutorial and solution reference. I was impressed with how well it balanced Access 2000's awesome new features as well as fundamentals to professional Access database programming techniques. In addition, it covers areas of interest like XML, Oracle and project management that I have not seen elsewhere.

The CD alone is worth the price of the book. I was pleasantly surprised to see a luxurious easy-to-use interface when I inserted the CD.

The authors provide numerous code examples and real world solutions which progress step by step and don't leave any gaps which leave you scratching your head. No simplistic "Hello World" nonsense here! but only disciplined, well-structured and commented examples that come from real world experience. The techniques described demonstrate how to optimize both performance and maintainability and leave you confident that you can tackle virtually any Access challenge that may arise.
