I'm biased, but this is good
A straightforward history of timekeeping and clocks written by a man who is clearly an expert in his field and loves what he's writing about. For me, being endlessly fascinated by the concept of time, this is thoroughly engaging. Full of early stories of clock makers and their inventions and useful on the way culture has changed to fit with timekeeping.
Needless to say, don't bother unless you like clocks.
