Customer Reviews
Difficult to put down after the first page.
One of the best books I've read. Several days later and I'm unable to put her experiences out of my mind. I was horrified and astounded that things like FGM still goes on in the world today. Waris Dirie wrote an easy to read, difficult to put down, horrifying and heartwarming story. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Remarkable
After seeing Waris on television recently talking about her book, i knew as soon as I tuned in that I would have to buy the book. I have never read a book like this before.Waris is an example to all of us, she managed to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the book and I cried when she cried, laughed when she laughed. She made me realise how life is what you make of it.......
An insightful and moving autobiography
I found this book very easy to read and difficult to put down. It brought up many emotions from laughter to tears as she discussed her life from her childhood in Somalia to her life as a model in London. This book caused me to reflect on my own life and gain a better understanding of those who live in the developing world.
