A great book which removes many of the comon misconceptions.
Despite being one of the most famous of Pharoahs and having many prevalent misconceptions attatched to him, including beliefs that he was the pharoah of Moses and maybe even, because of his monotheism, a follower of the Jewish Jehovah, our evidence for the life of Akhenaten is fragmentary. This book brilliantly reasseses the old evidence in the light of impressive new discoveries by the Temple Project. In the process of debunking the myths, it makes a fascinating read and is of great help in understanding the reaction to Akhenaten by two of his more famous successors Tutanhkamun and Ramesses II and gives insight into aspects of especially Ramesses' reign.
