Product Description
This is a highly practical, inexpensive x-ray atlas, which covers the common injuries in children presenting to the A & E department. It provides guidance on: radiological interpretation of films, with an atlas layout; the incidence of fractures at different ages; appropriate films for suspected injuries; and diagnostic pitfalls due to radiographic appearances. In addition, the inclusion of brief technical notes ensure safe practice, i.e. the correct positioning and handling of an injured child; correct requests for x-rays from the radiographers. If a child is mismanaged, the outcome can be extremely serious, and even result in permanent disability.

Useful companion for radiographers and medical students
This book is a useful companion for radiographers and medical students involved in radiography of paediatrics. Its simple format covers a wide range of topics and includes mechanisms of injury and pathology. The only drawback with this text is that its small size and wide range of topics mean that the reader may be left feeling that they are only scraping the surface and would therefore wish to refer to more detailed texts. All in all a useful, if brief, guide to paediatric trauma and would be useful on the shelf in any department that deals with children.
