Editorial Reviews

Review
Spend a morning with Tim Rawle's splendid new book celebrating the beauty and buildings of Cambridge and I guarantee you'll end up planning a trip back ... This is, quite simply, the best introduction to Cambridge ever published (Cam )

It takes a book such as this to remind us that there are places in Britain to rival any city in the world for architectural splendour. (Sunday Telegraph )

Catholic Herald, January 20, 2006
'combines well-researched articles with strikingly beautiful photographs which avoid the usual cliched images . . . a beautifully produced book'

Best of British, January 2006
'a superb new book'

Customer Reviews

Simply the best!5
Does exactly what it says on the tin.
The best photographic portrayal of Cambridge - BY A MILE!!

Town and Gown in the Fens5
This is a lavishly illustrated book by Tim Rawle, himself and architect and Fellow of Downing College. Its focus is on "Gown" rather than "Town" but the University and its Colleges have to be looked at as part of a broader picture.
Evocative and superbly photographed Cambridge is seen in through the seasons.
For the visitor, as a souvenir or guide, for those who have studied at Cambridge or for anyone with an interest in architecture this beautifully presented book is one that is highly recommended.
