This is a feast of a book!5
This is a beautiful book that gives so much more information than mere recipes. It explains for instance how important ritual is in the kitchen (eg light a candle and place fresh flowers etc) before even starting to prepare a meal.

Regard yourself as the artist and your kitchen as the studio where you will prepare and cook sumptuous meals for yourself, family and friends.

There is also plenty of information about Ayurveda and the 3 body constitutional types and a quiz to determine which type you are, and therefore what foods and drinks suit you best.

There are menus for one person as well as those for 4 to 6 persons. Information also includes the length of time of preparation for each recipe which is so useful.

This book encourages you to actually become the task of preparation and cooking and teaches that the heart and soul of the cook is so important to the finished result.

Read this book and know that food is more than just something to grab and bolt down as quickly as possible! Savour the book, savour the spirituality, savour the wonderful recipies.

A different view of food...4
I collect cookery books and am also a fan of Deepak Chopra, so I had to have this book. I'm also a bit of a healthy eating fanatic, although not a vegetarian. This book has been a very welcome addition to my bookshelf. When I'm tired of the traditional approach to menu planning, Deepak provides a breath of fresh air. Using ayurvedic principles to plan meals, and to accommodate differing physical needs, this book helps keep me on track in the kitchen.
