An Intriguing Anthology
Alleluya! brings together 77 songs which can make you think...
There are an intriguing selection of songs from Europe, the Caribbean, Australia and Israel and from composers such as Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Tom Paxton. The songs are grouped into: Everybody sing, Love is the way, Go and open the door, Bound for glory, A few questions, Needing somebody, Let there be peace, Standin' in the need of prayer, Everybody's building, Come, set us free, People of God and Amen and include favourites: Nowhere Man, Little Boxes, Silver Trumpet, Can't Help but Wonder and Streets of London as well as question songs like: "Where have all the flowers gone?"
The songbook is very good at bridging the divide between folk songs and hymns and can therefore be used both in the classroom and in assembly. The piano accompaniments have been simplified and percussion can be used if necessary. Full lyrics are printed at the side of the music and the book is brilliantly illustrated.
Another well presented, and durable songbook from A&C Black!
