A really well-structured programmed learning book.
The book uses the programmed learning process, where each concept is introduced and then tested, before going on to the next step. I found that I learnt how to perform celestial nav. and sight reduction, but had to re-read the book to really understand what was going on. There is more to celestial nav than the theory behind getting a fix, to do with the practicality of how to organise yourself for taking a fix, and finding the right stars in the twilight. I found this book absolutely right for the first part, and a great stepping-off point to look for the latter.

This book was first recommended to me by an Oceanmaster and it has met every expectation of mine. Very informative and easy to follow about a subject that can at times be more than mind boggling. Every example works and the explanations with concise detail make the subject very clear. An excellent book to help you study and master the practice of navigating by making reference to the celestial bodies around us. Thank you.
