This, the 2004 edition, contains more than 32,000 biographies, approximately one thousand of these making their first appearance in Who's Who. They are all kinds of people from all parts of the world and from all walks of life: the arts, business and finance, the church, the civil service, education, entertainment and sport, goverment, the law, local goverment, the media, medicine, professional institutions, science and the trade unions.

Each entry is in a standard form, full name and present post being followed by date of birth and family details, education, career in date order, publications, recreations and address.

The entries are carefully updated both from information supplied by biographees on their annual proofs and from many independent sources of reference. As a result, tens of thousands of amendments are made. The book extends over 2,400 pages and includes an obituary and a comprehensive list of abbreviations used in the entries.
