Georgian delights
When I ordered Georgian House style, I did not know what to expect. We are renovating an old Georgian Lock Keepers House, so needed major help on the Architectural and Interior Design features for the house. This we have found to are delight in this book, it is a constant source of help and information which is needed so we can restore our lovely old house to her former glory.
Georgian House Style
Absolutely Fabulous.
I recommend this book for anyone studying the Georgian period, whether it is architecture or interiors. I'm studying a degree in interior design and found I used this book more than the course recommended reads.
It includes everything from great buildings to door furniture, interiors right down to the kitchen sink!
Fantastic photographs to highly detailed drawings, naming architects, designers and dates, it even gives historical content, everything the student needs!
I will be buying other books from this range.
Good in parts
I do like this book; it has some lovely examples of classical georgian features, but they tend to mostly come from the best spa towns and cities around the UK. I would personally liked to have seen many more examples of rural country houses and cottages from all over the UK and an expanded section on gardens.
