Flower Painters...Take note!
There are many books in the "flower painting" league, and this one is in the Premier Division. Very well laid out, with clear
concise instructions, easy to follow diagrams, and exercises for detailed work. It also has some very interesting project work to test your skill. Hardback, beautifully illustrated all through and printed on top quality paper, this must be included
in any "flower painting" library.
A New Perspective on Painting Flowers
When I received this book I was immediately stimulated and excited by this new (to me) approach to flower painting. I have painted flowers for many years and am used to a more traditionally disciplined style of botanical painting. Julie Collins shows in this book a very challenging method of achieving wonderfull pictures in a very wet and loose style. I found the freedom of allowing colour to flow into water and producing its own effects exhilarating to say the least! Some plants are more suitable for this method than others and now I find myself looking at my subject in a completely different way to decide which way I shall paint to show the character of the plant. Thank you Julie Collins, your book is definately a 'must' for any enthusiastic flower painter.
Painting Flowers with Impact: A wonderful book
This is an incredible book, inspirational, liberating and a joy to read and work through. I highly recommend it and refer to it for other subject too. It is worth the purchase just to see the beautiful work on vellum. Everyone could gain something from this book.
