Average customer review:Product Description
Based on contextual, theological reflection shared with lay people, this text blends theological and historical research with the personal journey of a deacon. It explores the history of deacons and deaconesses from biblical times to the present day and looks at what it means to be a deacon. It should prove a useful resource for all interested in ministry, particularly those concerned with the ministry of the deacon whether as candidates or providers of training.

Customer Reviews
a great work
this is an excellent and unusual contribution to the, as yet, limited writing on the methodist deaconate order and its historical antecedents.
Aitchison, writing his first book, tackles a difficult subject with flair and creativity, holding the readers interest at all times.
Hopefully many more books will follow from this great new writer.
