Average customer review:Product Description
Over 100,000 copies of this spectacular journey have already been sold. In forty-two consecutive scenes, each at a different 'power of ten' level of magnification, readers are taken from the dimension of one billion light years to the realm of the atom. The text and other illustrations depict what we can perceive at each progressively smaller level of magnitude. "A brilliant pictorial and textual embodiment of a wonderful idea." The one book that will healthily mesmerize the young
This book must be in every home, every school and every college. It is enough to read this one book to have faith and admiration for science at the same time developing a deep respect for the Power behind the universe which most of us call God. I will name this book as one of the first ten books which will still be remembered at the 'end' of the twenty-first century as the legacy of the twentieth century.
A treasure chest of ideas for kids and adults alike.
This book brings home size -- large and small. It makes those pesky zeros seem significant. It interested my Barbie-loving daughter in numbers, at last! It gets the microscope off the shelf and the telescope out of the library! More fun than video games.
An astonishing and exhilarating book; great gift.
I have owned this amazing book for 15 years and continue to visit it again and again. I've given it to many friends and family members, and no one has failed to be knocked out by it.
