A good first step in understanding genetics5
This book covers the basics that are required in understanding genetics. I would recommend this book to anyone who is starting a course in genetics and needs to access information that is written in an easy to understand format. It gives good coverage of genetics with the assumption that the reader has no prior knowledge in the subject. The book is excellent start for someone taking a first year genetics module at university. The book has an advantage of having a comprehensive index, easy to understand diagrams and summaries at the end of each chapter. A particular advantage that this book gives the reader is a 'test' section at the end of each chapter. This allows knowledge learnt from the chapter to be checked.

A must for those studying genetics5
A wonderful resource for anyone studying molecular biology, biochemistry or any other subject involving genetics. Very well written, with excellent diagrams. Highly recommended.

a really good introduction5
I am a student from another major (environmental engineering), so I had no any knowledge in genetics previously. After reading 4 chapters and finishing related exercise, I find I gradually gain a sense of genetics. This book is very comprehensive and focusing on main themes at the same time. For important topics, the authors will mention them again and again. I can say, if you read carefully, you can not miss them. At last, I would say the problems at the end of each chapter are really good, which is very helpful for grasping related knowledge.
I would recommend this perfect canon to beginners like me.
