Product Description

The house had a history. Perhaps it had too much history. At first glance it looks like a nice house at a knockdown price. But for Glenn Darnley of Shelter Realty, selling 362 Belisle Street proves almost impossible. First a young couple move in - but the house won't let them stay long. A divorcee with an unhappy young son has it for a while. Then a drunken writer. But not one of them are welcome. Dreadful things happen at 362 Belisle Street. It'll take a very special owner to turn this house into a home.

Disappointing2
362 Belisle St is a traditional haunted house - doors stick, cupboards open by themselves, mysterious voices are heard, and music is played in empty rooms. This book forms 3 stories, all linked by the estate agents that is trying to sell the house. First a young couple move in - but they don`t last long there. Next, a divorcee with an unhappy young son has it for a while. Then a drunken writer. Horrendous things happen at 362 Belisle Street. Why is it haunted by so many ghosts? The answers are there, but I'm afraid for me it was all a bit of an anti-climax. The book started great - noises in the attic, footsteps in empty rooms, the bath filling and emptying on its own - but after the first 60 or so pages it turned into a damp squib and just fizzled out. I felt the ending was one of the lamest I've come across, with the author feeling the need to actually list explanations for all the haunting, instead of leading the reader to the answers through her writing. For me this book was a big (almost 600 pages!) disappointment.

Over hyped and slightly disappointing3
I did quite enjoy this book but as other reviewers have commented, it certainly wasn't what I was expecting and definitely wasn't as scary as I'd imagined it to be. The three stories within the book weren't very frightening and out of all the characters I only warmed to one - the realtor selling the house. Overall, a little bit too over hyped and slightly disappointing. If you enjoy a real old fashioned ghost story then I cannot recommend enough Jonathan Aycliffe's 'Naomi's Room' which is a truly terrifying read.

Good old-fashioned ghost story5
Do read if you like traditional ghost books that are not spoiled by unnecesary romantic sideline stories.
