Superb - the best data book available
This book comprises the best features from many other data books, and puts them all together to create a superb refernce text. The layout is clear, and the price is well within the range of an average university student. Contains enough information to see you through at least the first two years of a degree programme, if not more !
An essential reference for A and AS chemistry students
This is a classic reference book for A level chemistry. The book contains all the data that a student will need to illustrate many concepts studied at A level chemistry. The data covers data relating to the elements, inorganic and organic compounds. A thorugh contents list and index allows specific data to be found. Specific data on the elements will give detailed electron structure, listings of isotopes with details of any radioactivity as well as melting and boiling points. All the data needed to demonstrate the periodic patterns that illustrate periodicity are given. Data on compounds is extensive, from basic physical properties of solubility, melting and boiling points through percentage ionic character to chemical data such as standard enthalpy of formation data and acid dissociation constants. Many school chemistry laboratories have copies of this text so many students will be familiar with it. Independent use of this book will develop an awareness of the extent of chemical data and an invaluable source of data to support A level chemisry homework and coursework.
Chemists' data book...ideal for GCE A-level
This book contains an excellent set of data which is invaliable for teachers and lecturers preparing material and resources for teaching U.K. GCE A-level Chemistry and other related level III Science programs. It includes essential material on fundamental particles, electromagnetic spectrum, thermodynamic data, kinetic and equilibrium data including acid-base equilibria and other ionic equilibria. In addition there is much information on physical properties of inorganic and organic substances. An old, but excellent volume which is not dated. My third copy!
