This manual is designed to help students master the knowledge required for AS and A Level Biology, and to test their understanding throughout the course and while preparing for examinations. The text is divided into 45 topics, each of which contains notes on the key concepts, graded questions and full answers. The initial questions are designed to build the student's confidence, and there are also questions that reflect the demands of AS and A Level. The full answers, including the steps involved in mathematical calculations, allow students to test their knowledge, to see where they have gone wrong, and to learn from any mistakes. The final topic deals with synoptic questions and how to answer them.

Very Useful Revision Guide
This is a revision guide that is much more useful than any other. Every topic for the AS A2 course is covered: there is a page or two of information, then a page or two of questions, some from actual exams. Most importantly it gives you the answers to the questions, which most other books don't. The questions are numerous and range from easy to difficult, so it tests your levels of understanding and gets you into the swing of answering in the way the exam boards want.

Best for Biology
This is a revision guide that is much more useful than any other. Every topic for the AS A2 course is covered: for each topic (e.g. Glycolysis) there is a page or two of information, then a page or two of questions, some from actual exams. Most importantly it gives you the answers to the questions (mark scheme), which most other books don't. The questions are numerous and range from easy to difficult, so it tests your levels of understanding and gets you into the swing of answering in the way the exam boards want.
This book is essential! But probably best used in conjunction with some bigger, older A-level books e.g. A-level Biology, Philips and Chilton or Understanding Biology for Advanced Level, Toole and Toole.
