Product Description
This is History! is the Schools History Project's Key Stage 3 scheme of work for National Curriculum history. Through a combination of in-depth and overview units it offers a varied, relevant and challenging diet for the whole Key Stage 3 History programme of study.
This book is an in-depth study about the English Civil War.
Section 1 provides an innovative approach to one of the most important but most problematic aspects of the Britain 1500-1750 study unit: the causes and consequences of the Civil War. These topics are studied through examining the decisions which faced Oliver Cromwell - should he fight against the King? Should he execute the King? Should he accept the crown himself?
The big task is for pupils to write their own biography of Cromwell - bringing these decisions to life.
Section 2 is a shorter citizenship/political literacy unit exploring how the Civil War changed England's system of government.
